Massage Therapy

Massage therapy involves the manual manipulation of the soft tissue structures to help prevent and alleviate pain, muscle tension, spasm, stress and promote health and well-being. Massage therapy may help improve the functioning of the circulatory, muscular, lymphatic and nervous systems and may greatly improve the rate of healing from injury and illness.

Therapeutic massage can be beneficial for a variety of injuries and illnesses including:

There are several types of massage available at Natural Healthcare Northwest including:

  • Swedish massage employing long, relaxing, gentle strokes.
  • Fascial Release work which facilitates deeper healing.
  • Deep Tissue Work which is excellent for chronic pain
  • Energetic body work, such as Reiki and Chakra balancing, for emotional, spiritual and physical healing.

In certain health conditions therapeutic massage is contraindicated, or may need to be provided in conjunction with a physician’s care.  Please contact your doctor before seeking massage if you have any of the following conditions:

  • Heart disease
  • Phlebitis or inflammation of the veins
  • Blood clots currently or in the past
  • Certain forms of cancer
  • Some skin conditions
  • Infectious diseases
  • Diabetes mellitus
